This is an introductory level to competitive swimming. Swimmers must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool at one time and be at least 6 years old. The goal of the Junior Competitive program is to teach the basics of the 4 competitive swimming strokes and the skills necessary to progress into competitive swim meets.
Dryland activities are introduced at this level. Skill development is the general goal of this group:
This level offers the swimmer the opportunity to focus on technique, skill and endurance at a competitive level. The goal of the Intermediate Competitive program is to help each swimmer achieve their highest potential in swimming, from finishing a race for the first time all the way up to Provincial swim meets.
This level of competitive swimming increases both dryland and pool time training sessions. Swimmers will start to identify personal goals with the coaches and should be committed to achieving them. They should enjoy the challenge of training and competing. Senior Competitive swimmers will learn how to "RACE", including mental preparation, race strategy, nutrition and self-discipline. Swimmers will take on a greater role in goal setting, team leadership and mentoring younger swimmers.
